LYRA

OSAKA JAPAN

LYRA is a Japanese artist whose paintings gently celebrate the beauty of animals and the colors of the natural world. Using both acrylic and oil paints, she creates fantastical, richly hued works that invite viewers into a world where wonder and tenderness coexist.

Her journey as an artist began with a wish to support rescued cats and dogs. Through heartfelt pet portraits, she not only offers lasting memories to families, but also contributes to animal welfare by donating a portion of her art proceeds to shelters. LYRA has painted murals for rescue centers, collaborated with a local zoo, and was recently featured on the cover of an animal-themed illustration magazine.

Much of her inspiration comes from the quiet yet powerful presence of animals and the fleeting beauty of life. In Japan, many cats and dogs are still euthanized each year, their lives ending without ever being seen. Through her art, LYRA hopes to bring light to those hidden lives and gently encourage a deeper connection between humans and animals.

Her work is a heartfelt reminder to treasure the life around us—both big and small—and to find beauty in every shared moment.

After graduating from Osaka University of Arts with a degree in Design, I worked for five years as a designer at a paint company specializing in color formulation. During that time, I became deeply interested in how color influences both human emotions and society, and I explored the power of color through hands-on experience.

After becoming independent, I began creating art focused on animal welfare—an inspiration rooted in my childhood experience of adopting a rescued cat as a family. Through pet portraits and charity-based artworks, I aim to express the warmth of animals and the beauty of life.
